Centre Avnstrup, Denmark

The snow covered the grown when we arrived at Centre Avnstrup in Denmark. The centre is about one hours drive from Copenhagen and we were looking forward to this workshop. We were meeting with a class of
asylum seeker school kids, and it had been difficult to arrange. Also, because of the holidays, we had had to
postpone it.

Now it was finally happening and we met with the class in the early morning. The only class they had that day, was "AsylumHOME". We began by giving a short introduction of the system and afterwards we showed
the students how to create their own profile and communicate via the system. The students were between 15 and 20 years of age and came from many different backgrounds. It was easy to do the workshop, because many of
the kids already were used to email and the internet.

To give an extra challenge, we had brought a digital camera. With the camera the students could take photos of each other and their surroundings, and then upload them  into their galleries on AsylumHOME.net. You can see one of the photos we took above.

Most of the students wanted to try to take photographs, but with only one camera, there unfortunately was not enough time. We hope that we can soon raise enough money to buy more cameras. This will definitely
make the workshops even better.
